Sizing - How to get the best fit

Kids Shoe Sizing | How to choose the right size shoe for your child

BABY, TODDLER AND KIDS SHOE SIZES

It's important to remember that every child develops in their own way and at different rates. It's the stage of development that's important rather than the age. Some children begin to walk at 10 months, others at 15 months or later. It's the journey that's important not the age.
Also, there is no universal measure for shoe sizing - each brand differs slightly in their in sole measurements due to the style, shape and width of each shoe. That's why we've included our size charts for each brand on each specific product page for you, so it's easy to refer to when browsing our range.
And we've also included innersole measurements on our charts, to help you get the most suitable shoe size for your little one.
We recommend measuring your child's foot to get the best fit when choosing shoes.
STEP 1: What you will need
1. 2 pieces of A4 Paper
2. Ruler or measuring tape
3. Pencil
STEP 2: How to measure
1. Measure both feet of your child as one foot may be longer than the other.
2. Put a piece of paper on the floor against a wall.
3. Have your child stand on the paper with their heels against the wall (make sure their heels are on the paper). If your little one is just learning to stand, have someone support them as they stand. This is your starting point. Make sure that their heels are in line with the edge of the paper.
4. Gently place your hand on your child's foot, making sure that their toes are straight (not curled) and mark the point where their longest toe ends with your pencil.
5. Measure the distance between both points using the ruler or measuring tape. This will give you their foot length. Write this measurement down.
6. Now repeat for the other foot.
STEP 3: Choosing the best fit
7. Once you have both measurements, take the larger measurement (ie. that of the longer foot). We recommend adding on 1 cm which allows room for growth and development.
eg. If your toddler measures 14.1 cm we recommend a shoe size with an innersole length of 15.1 cm.
STEP 4: Selecting the size
On each product page you will find a size chart for each brand/style.
This Size Chart is found at the bottom of the product description.
Click on the dropdown arrow and scroll through the size guide to find the closest matching innersole measurement to your respective best fit.
eg. If your toddler measures 14.1 cm, then an innersole length of 15.1 cm is the best fit. If you were looking at an Old Soles shoe, the closest innersole length to this is 15.0 cm which is a EUR 24/AUS 7.
Measuring baby feet
For little one's that are not standing yet, there is another way that you can measure their feet.
STEP 1: What you will need
a. Pencil
b. Paper
c. Soft measuring tape
STEP 2: How to measure
1. Place the heel of your baby's foot onto the palm of your hand.
2. Put the edge of the measuring tape against the end of your little one's foot.
3. Hold the foot gently down with your thumb and softly lie the measuring tape along the length of their foot, all the way to the longest toe.
4. Write down this measurement. This is their foot length
5. Repeat this process for the other foot.

STEP 3: Choosing the best fit
7. Once you have both measurements, take the larger measurement (ie. that of the longer foot). We recommend adding on 0.8 -1 cm which allows room for growth and development.
eg. If your baby measures 10.6 cm we recommend a shoe size with an innersole length of 11.5 cm.
STEP 4: Selecting the size
On each product page you will find a size chart for each brand/style.
This Size Chart is located under the product description.
Click on the dropdown arrow and scroll through the size guide to find the closest matching innersole measurement to your respective best fit.
eg. If your baby measures 10.6 cm, then an innersole length of 11.5 cm is the best fit. If you were looking at a Bobux shoe, the closest innersole length to this is 11.9 cm which is a EUR 18/AUS 3.5
Remember this is a guide to help you choose the best kids shoe size for your child. If your baby or toddler's measurements falls between sizes, it's always best to choose the larger size.
